Frequently Asked

Questions

What happens if my dog or cat is sick and you’re not open?

We offer urgent care services for pets experiencing non-life threatening conditions. Your pet can receive urgent medical attention from 8 am daily, with access to our pet emergency and referral center after-hours. If your pet needs immediate medical attention after-hours or on Sundays, we will refer you to a local pet emergency center that we have partnered with.

Pet insurance helps cover the cost of routine and emergency veterinary care. However, each plan has its own unique policy requirements, so to understand your pet’s complete coverage, our team will review your pet’s insurance plan and let you know in advance what is covered, and what cost you will be responsible for, if any.
The cost for your pet’s urgent care appointment will vary greatly depending on what services they need to both determine what they’re suffering from, and the treatment they require to get better. Your pet may require diagnostic testing, like x-rays, ultrasound, or blood testing. Once our team determines their cause of discomfort or injury, we can prescribe a treatment plan to get them well. At Gardens Animal Hospital, we will always review the full details of your pet’s continuum of care, including all associated costs, and help you choose the best route for your pet, and your family.
While we do treat a great number of pet ailments at Gardens Animal Hospital, when time is of the essence, or your pet is suffering from a significant life-threatening condition, we recommend taking your pet to a pet emergency center. Some life-threatening conditions include paralysis, active seizures, excessive bleeding, compound fractures, cardiac arrest, significant trauma, and loss of consciousness.
